Rail Train Travel

Over the past few years, more and more travelers have been embracing the idea of “slow travel” or “slow tourism,” where instead of flying, travelers are opting for a more leisurely approach to seeing the world. This trend is more environmentally friendly and it also encourages travelers to be more intentional with their travel, and make a conscious effort to connect with the cultures and places they visit.

One of the most popular methods of slow travel is by rail. The good news is that there are numerous scenic routes criss-crossing every continent except Antarctica. So whether you’re looking for day-trip inspiration or a long distance adventure, there are many options our there.

Rocky Mountaineer has been doing Canadian Rockies tours for many years. These rail journeys can include Vancouver, Whistler, Quesnel, Kamloops, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff and Calgary depending on which route you choose.  In 2021, Rocky Mountaineer started a U.S route between Moab, Utah and Denver, Colorado.
