Impressions Isla Mujeres by Secrets aims to position itself as the pinnacle of luxury all-inclusive, translating into a blend of boutique, bespoke hospitality with all the bells and whistles of a high-end, all-inclusive concept.

The resort has 125 junior suites / suites and and opened May 19, 2023. It is on the island of Isla Mujeres, towards the south end of the island, and faces Cancun. It has a very small footprint, being just one building.

Getting there: The only way to reach Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets is by boat. The property offers roundtrip transfers from Cancun to its private dock via speedboat or catamaran. You have to get to the Marina Hacienda del Mar in Cancun. This marina is right before Playa Mujeres, and is around 30 minutes from the Cancun airport. From there, you will board an Impression private boat for their included transfer to the resort. The resort has two boats: a larger luxury catamaran and a small luxury speedboat. The catamaran takes around 40 minutes and the speedboat takes around 20 minutes. You do not get to choose which boat you travel on, it will depend which is at the marina/resort when you are ready to leave, how many people are needing to be transported, etc. There is a “welcome experience” at the marina with food/drinks when you arrive. On the boats, they offer water, soft drinks and beer. The boats go directly to a dock right in front of the resort for a seamless arrival process.

Pools: there are four pools and a large hot tub/jacuzzi. They have a gorgeous infinity rooftop pool with the absolute best view on the island, a main pool on the lobby level with a swim up bar, another pool right under that one, another one below that, and then the hot tub. All are infinity pools overlooking the stunning ocean in front of the resort. They are all heated in the winter months. The beach is small but gorgeous! This area does not get any sargassum so its guaranteed to be beautiful. They removed the seagrass that was on the bottom of the ocean floor so its sandy and smooth. It is not a walking beach, you cannot walk either way, but for lounging on and relaxing in the ocean its perfect. Isla Mujeres has a beautiful long walking beach on the north end called Playa Norte, which you can cab or golf cart to in around 15 minutes if you want to experience that.

Rooms: Isla Mujeres is a very narrow island, giving the possibility of ocean views from both sides of the resort. The side that faces Cancun, which has the beach is the superior side and has the best views. The other side is further away with buildings, roads, foliage, etc. in between, so the views are not nearly as direct.

All of the rooms are decorated beautifully, in a Tulum/ Mediterranean vibe with light/beige colors and unique stonework, art and fabrics. All of the rooms have a shower that is in between the room and the washroom, and is completely glass on both sides. There is a screen that comes down to make it completely private, if needed.
All of the rooms have butler service. You connect with your butler on arrival on WhatsApp and they can assist with all your wants and needs (from 9-5).

Impression Isla Inclusions: each guest gets a 20 min hand/foot or head massage and laundry is included as well. There is a yoga mat in the rooms and they can deliver other gym equipment like weights on request. They do a sunset sail on their boat once or twice per week, according to the daily schedule. There is a guest limit to make sure clients sign up with their butler ASAP.

Restaurants and bars:
There are no buffets. La Vista is the main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and has stunning ocean views. Mercado is a “snack bar” that is more grab and go-but WAY elevated. Spezia is Mediterranean/Italian and is open for “Mexican lunch” (i.e. 2pm) and dinner. Sake is the Asian restaurant. Wildfire Grill is their steakhouse with a HUGE menu and lots of vegetarian options.

Gym/spa: The gym is a decent size and is fully stocked and has Technogym equipment. The spa is lovely. In the women’s change room they have a steam room and in the men’s a sauna. In the main shared hydrotherapy area they also have a steam and sauna, as well as a saltwater floating pool, a hamman, a jacuzzi with water fall features of different pressures and an ice machine along with a few other features. They do not have a cold plunge.
Entertainment/activities: Some examples of activities: yoga (and wine yoga!), bike tours, chakra sound healing, soap making, sacred smokes (sage stick making), macrame, balance class on paddleboards, cacao workshop, stretch class, roller foam workout, tequila tasting, jenga challenge, movie night, paddle tour, kayak tour, pilates, snorkel tour, mayan meditation, and more. Activities are focused on wellness. They have a water slide that goes directly into the ocean!
The entertainment schedule, restaurant menus and everything else you could want/need to know is available on the “Inclusive Collection” App in the App store.
Nightlife-they have a DJ at the rooftop until 10/10:30 p.m. and a lobby bar, as well as some live music. Eventually the lobby bar will be open 24/7.
Smoking: the only place to smoke is right at the front gate, not on the property.
There are a lot of stairs/walking. Not very wheelchair accessible. The vibe is quiet, chill and relaxing.
