Rocky Mountaineer – Rockies to the Red Rocks – Train Travel

We did the Rocky Mountaineer – Rockies to the Red Rocks October 17 – 18, 2022.  That is the new U.S. route of that Rocky Mountaineer started in 2021 after operating many years with routes in the Canadian Rockies.  We flew into Salt Lake City and did a one way rental to Moab.  Definitely spend at least a day or two in Moab and visit Arches National Park.  After spending the night in Moab we boarded the luxury rail car and enjoyed gorgeous views on our way to Glenwood Springs for the evening.  The glass domed train travels only during the day so you can see the views.  Plenty of great food and drinks are graciously served to you en route. The package includes your hotel in Glenwood Springs which was the fabulous Hotel Denver for us.

The next day we boarded the train to continue on to Denver.  Of course, more awesome views (and food and drinks) along the way.  It was a great journey which we really enjoyed.  We extended our trip by spending several more days in Breckenridge before flying home from Denver.  The journey can also be done in reverse – starting in Denver and ending in Moab.

We enjoyed the journey so much that in 2024 we are taking a group on the Canadian route of Rocky Mountaineer.  Join us on this journey!  Here is the link for more information and to register.
